  • Create, activate and distribute access and discount cards
  • Process and respond to incoming queries (email, telephone, post)
  • Upload new starters and maintain employee data
  • Audit and sanity check data and reports
  • Process pay including statutory payments and amendments, timesheets and emergency CHAPs payments
  • Process HMRC tax code, RTI and student loan updates
  • Upload payslips
  • Upload to the pension file and action opt outs and refunds
  • Calculate under/over pay
  • Check and investigate AWACS report (invalid bank details)
  • Complete P32
  • Import and check holiday pay top up and NMW enhanced pay
  • Process BACS, holiday roll over, Year End and P11Ds
  • Notify HMRC of Company car data
  • Process Early Year Updates, Employer Payment Submission file and Full Payment Submission
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll
  • Set up new stores on KV and AS400
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal systems and practices
  • Other duties in accordance with role and within remit of skill base

Package Description

  • Up to £32,678 per annum, dependent on experience
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service

Minimum Criteria to Apply

  • Experience in high volume payroll department
  • Proven knowledge of tax, national insurance and HMRC frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Computer proficient
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness 
  • Numerate and accurate
  • Methodical and orderly approach to tasks
  • The ability to work within tight and often conflicting timeframes
