  • Assist in maintaining plant/equipment to reduce downtime

  • Assist Engineers with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to facility systems, such as HVAC, emergency lighting, electrical generators, fire alarm systems, compressor and baler
    checks, and boiler and water systems
  • Work at height (scaffold and scissor lifts)
  • Ensure all Facilities’ critical spares are managed appropriately through the inventory control
    system (CMMS)
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance to good practice, legislation and Company standards

The successful candidate will be reliable and hardworking and enjoy the fast pace of a Distribution Centre as well as dealing with busy workloads.

Package Description

  • 6 months fixed term contract, with the potential to be extended
  • £25,725 - £33,725 FTE, dependent on experience 
  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern working from 6am - 6pm, 12 hour shifts 
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service

Minimum Criteria to Apply

  • Previous experience of basic building fabric or equipment maintenance or be able to demonstrate a desire to enter this field with possible advancement to more specific fields (electrical/plumbing/facilities engineering)
  • Working at heights is essential
  • Strong DIY skills or experience of basic mechanical/electrical/engineering background
  • Skills and Competencies
  • Demonstrate practical ability ‘on tools’
  • Computer literate; namely Word and Excel
  • Adaptable to carry out a wide variety of tasks as instructed in line with skills and capability
  • Must hold or be working towards any recognised electrical, plumbing, facilities maintenance certifications or have a desire to do so
  • Previous experience of working in commercial and industrial environments and site based maintenance is preferred but not essential
