Data Visualisation

  • Design, build and maintain interactive dashboards which emphasise key data insights, tailored to the knowledge and skills of the end-user
  • Manage the visualisation platform – users and access levels
  • As an expert visualisation tool user, you will share knowledge with team members on building dashboards and deliver user training to stakeholders

  • Help to promote a data and analytics-driven culture across the business
  • Use your business process understanding to sense-check dashboards and compare across data sources to ensure quality and consistency of the dashboards you produce

Business Understanding

  • Liaise with colleagues to understand the business problem and identify insights requirements. You will prioritise your workstreams, manage expectations and clearly communicate known risks and limitations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand the architecture of our cloud Data Warehouse and the nature of the data that lies within it

Data Engineering

  • Utilise best engineering practice to design and construct downstream data tables, optimised to serve dashboard

Package Description

  • £30,000 - 35,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  • 37.50 hours per week
  • Remote/hybrid working or Liverpool Head Office based available 
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service

Minimum Criteria to Apply

The successful candidate must have:

  • Basic level of experience in using data visualisation tools, with an ambition of honing your craft (e.g. Tableau, Excel etc.)
  • Previous demonstrable experience in building compelling, interactive dashboards to convey data insights to a variety of business audiences
  • Ability to interpret and translate data into easily understandable conclusions
  • Basic knowledge of and eagerness to champion best visual practices
  • Capability of writing basic SQL code, familiarity with the main functions and a willingness to further develop your skills
  • Basic knowledge of data warehousing, ETL techniques and data challenges
  • The ability to identify and prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Effective communication of progress, timelines, limitations, and risks
  • Self-motivated, methodical with excellent attention to detail

And it's a bonus if you have the following, but not essential:

  • A good understanding of retail-orientated business processes and systems
  • Previous experience using Data Build Tool (DBT)
  • Previous experience using Tableau
  • Experience managing visualisation tool platforms, e.g. Tableau Online/Server
