As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the site by managing barrier control and overseeing the booking in and out of deliveries. You’ll also be responsible for security-checking Goods Out vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety and security standards at all times.

Your role will include regular internal and external patrols, conducting colleague and vehicle/car searches, and upholding a secure workplace for everyone involved in Logistics and Distribution. About the Role

Job Overview

  • Site Security: Deliver an efficient loss prevention service, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for colleagues while adhering to government regulations.
  • Bookings: Oversee booking in/out processes, assist the Goods-In team with queries, and perform random vehicle searches upon exit.
  • Monitoring: Monitor and analyse CCTV footage alongside incident reports to investigate thefts, accidents, and other events, escalating incidents as needed.
  • Visitor Management: Facilitate third-party access to CCTV footage during out-of-hours requests in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Reporting: Record and report data on damage, complete bay checks, log potential stock theft, and oversee pallet and recycling collections.
  • Site Patrols: Conduct daily fire door seal checks, internal and external patrols, and act as Yard Safety Marshal during busy periods to maintain clear access.
  • Site Direction: Escort visitors on-site, direct emergency vehicles, and support colleague and vehicle searches within the distribution centre.

    • £26,562.14 per annum plus £3,670.01 night shift allowance if applicable (between 10pm and 6am)
    • Average 38.61 hours per week.
    • 4 on 4 off - 12 hour shifts.

Minimum Criteria to Apply

  • Experience of a working as a Security Officer is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Distribution Centre Functions is preferable.
  • Awareness of working in an open plan environment.
  • Ability to work using confidentiality and discretion at all times.
